Senior Software Engineer (m/f)

Taxfix allows everyone to file taxes in a couple of minutes. Without any knowledge about taxes, no stress and no forms. Using language that is easy to understand and a chat-like interface, we developed our first public prototype and already got great feedback. To turn this into a full-featured product, we are looking for talented people to join our international team in the heart of Berlin.

As a software developer at Taxfix you will be building the very backbone behind our software to express the German tax code in exact algorithms, make smart decisions for the user and help real people to save money.

• Collaborate closely with front-end developers, designers and our tax expert to define product requirements and strategy
• Help to make technical architecture decisions
• Pair with our tax expert to translate tax laws into shippable software
• Develop the business logic behind our conversational user interface
• Implement third-party integrations such as Elster APIs
• Developing clear APIs between system components

**Requirements**
• 5+ years of experience in developing web and mobile applications
• Outstanding skills in Javascript and Node.js
• Be accountable for all aspects of your work, from research and analysis to testing and deployment
• Ability to make pragmatic decisions in response to time and resource constraints in startup
• Be excited about solving tax problems with intelligent algorithms and to work hand in hand with our tax advisor
• TDD, Git and Linux experience
• Proven experience in creating APIs
• Fluent in German and English
• Full-time position
• Permanently based in Berlin or willing to move
• EU passport holder or other permit to work in the EU
