The first step towards realising that mission is building a global franchise of Startup Safary events. The second step will be building technology tools based on this network.
**About Startup Safary**
Startup Safary is an event format. It’s easiest described as “days of open doors for a startup ecosystem”. When we enter a new city we identify all companies that make up a startup ecosystem there. Usually these are startups, investors, accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces. We invite them to participate in the event by opening doors to their offices and organising sessions there, which help attendees understand who these companies are, what they are working on and so on. Startup Safary is supposed to be the best way to connect to a startup ecosystem in a given city. And we see no reason, why eventually every city around the world with a startup ecosystem wouldn’t have a Startup Safary taking place in it.
**About the role**
Your role is to drive expansion of Startup Safary franchise. You will create and execute an aggressive growth strategy to launch Startup Safary in new cities. You will work closely with the CEO and the rest of the team. Your task is to identify, approach, interview and select potential organisers.
Once an organiser is selected, your role will be to onboard them into our process and connect with relevant people on the team. This role requires some travelling and gives an opportunity for building an exceptionally strong network within startup ecosystems in different parts of the world.
– Create and execute an aggressive growth strategy to launch Startup Safary in new cities
– Recruit, interview, select and onboard franchisees
– Monitor budget and other resources assigned across events and cities
– Work closely with Production, Marketing, Communication and Sales managers on the team to best support our partners in other cities
This role requires strong “people’s skills”. You will have to work with multiple teams across many different countries and cultures. You have to be able to combine cultural sensitivity with firm management style to ensure that deadlines are met and events are being organised in accordance with our format.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a very strong understanding of how startup ecosystems work and be very familiar with key players – events, startups, investors.
– Fluency in English (verbal and written communications)
– Very strong understanding of startup ecosystems and familiarity with the industry
– Ability to multitask and automate processes
– Relevant experience (e.g. project management, communication, business development etc.)
